Bog divider for invasive plants

I was wondering if dividing a bog with a section of liner would be a good idea to keep your invasive plants in a smaller area of the bog. Was thinking that as you fill the bog area with pea gravel have a section of liner installed inside the bog as a wall.

lol you could try, they send out runners, some seed. They tend to grow well and sort of everywhere. Some of my bog plants are now growing in the dirt outside of the pond.

Same here! Just pull out whatever is getting overgrown but be careful where you throw it! I have lizards tail on the hillside behind my ponds.

Give it a try! I’m of the idea that what’s overgrown will get thinned as it gets out of control, giving me more plants to work with later!

I'll add my LOL to @addy1 's. I think it would be far more trouble than it's worth. A lot of gardening is just keeping things from taking over - the bog is pretty much the same approach.

I did try keeping my cattails in a fabric bag in the bog. It was a fail!

Amen to that. They were dwarf mini or some such thing... but still took more than they're fair share of space!

I had cat tails in the bog, yanked them all. I do have some mini's in the hot tub pond, in a pot. The seed heads will be cut off before they ripen.
