I read in another post about using billboard liner for pond liner and started calling around trying to find some. The closestcompany I could find was in Charlotte, NC, which is 5 hours away from us, however, my husband is in Charlotte this weekend for a car show. The company sells them for $10 to $20. The piece I got was 20x60, but I offered a little more than that in return for the salesman delivering to my husband at the car show. Everyone was happy!! Hopefully we will start digging when my husband gets home Saturday afternoon. Woo Hoo!!

When I was calling some of the companies that were closer, I met the nicest man who didn't have any old billboard materials, but did give me the number to a man about 30 minutes away who grows water plants and raises fish. Can't wait to go see him. It all seems to be coming together.

frog liner is also cheap and extremely strong I used that for my waterfalls. The one thing I like about the frog liner is that it is not smooth and so much easier to work with .I tried putting a fork through the sample like they said and could not get it to poke through it no matter what .

Hey if one wanted to one could put the printed side up and you could be looking down at the Marlboro man in your pond bottom

We're going to try to get digging this week, this weekend for sure!!! I'll post pics as we go. Sissy, good idea about the fork, I'm going to try that tomorrow. LOL about the advertising!! The liner is all folder up, so I am not sure what is on it or what it is made of.

with the liner is there a front or back that you have to turn it and before you actually put it in I think I would spread a piece out over a container just to make sure it is as waterproof as they say .You would not want to get that large a liner in and then fill it with water and find out you are loosing a couple of inches of water a day and think it is coming from liner but maybe is coming from something else all together .Testing it is always better first for your own sanity .I tested the frog liner before I put it in my waterfall ,to make sure it did not seep or drip anywhere from liner .I had never heard of frog liner until I got a piece and I like the fact it has a nice texture to it .

Good one addy!!!! I am guessing the side that has the advertising is the bottom, right? I'll have to figure out a way to test it today. What is frog liner?
