All plants oxygenate. During the day. At night the process reverses.
Many people refer to plants that grow completely underwater as oxygenators, but the same situation exists there. They will expel oxygen during the day, but they take up oxygen at night.
@Lisak1 Ahhh, brings back high school biology! Most of the “respiration” part takes place in the leaves, so the underwater oxygenators (during the day) do play a bigger part. That whole photosynthesis stuff is pretty fascinating.
