I have bees gathering at my latest pond. They don't usually bother any visitors, but it is annoying when I am working nearby. I have tried some ways of deterring them. Any suggetsions?

Put out a bucket of water with dome sugar or honey in it. But yellow jackets will also like it. Oh and add a log or something floating for easy access

Make sure you have floating items on the water ow the bees drown.

They love a pea gravel filled lid, shallow pot with water to the top of the gravel. A way to land and drink without drowning.

My bees drank mainly out of my bog, shallow water level, pea gravel to land on.

They need a lot of water to manage their hive.

Watch which way they fly when leaving. Put water there between their home hives and the pond.

Thanks for the good advice. I will have to set up something.

I think I know which direction they are coming from. I wish I knew which property they are coming from.

If in Phoenix type area, there are a lot more wild hives, then our cold area.

Could be a wild hive vs a kept hive.

When getting water, nectar, they tend to ignore you. I worked , in my bog, among 100s of bees. Never got stung.

Each hive, in the summer, has about 80000 beds, not all are gatherer's, but a lot fly out every day. Some for nectar some for water.

Most of the time they don't bother me. Although I have been stung about five times when I was making changes with the water wall.
