Hello, we just survived the August 2016 Louisiana flooding. So everyone seems to be tearing out their tubs. I found a jacuzzi tub today which I had been thinking would be perfect for a pond. ( Yes I know I should be focused on rebuilding but I really want to move on to things I love! Especially with spring nearly here!) I've had the small preformed before and there just seem to be anyway to effectively clean the water. Enter bathtub. It already has a drain, my thought was to use the drain to naturally drain the pond water into the pond filter and then of course circle the clean water back to a waterfall or something. Well if using a jacuzzi tub why couldn't the existing pipes be tapped into to pump the clean water back into the pond? I saw this thread in looking online and just wondering why the existing piping couldn't be used? Also is there a way to tie in my small and large ridgid ponds? Thanks!

Welcome to our group! With creative plumbing you probably could make it work.

Post pictures of your set up, that always helps us help you.

Welcome! Sorry you were a victim of the flooding. I'm in NW LA -- it was hard to watch our southern neighbors going through this!
Well your practically my neighbor! Thank you. It was horrible. 90-95% of my city was affected, our church, our children's school. It looked like the 9th ward after Katrina in every town and city affected.

Thank you. It has been crazy across the entire country. We've had above average rainfall the last two years in a row. Rivers, streams etc haven't been dredged or cleaned from the flooding and it nearly flooded our city again a few weeks ago. We don't have anywhere to store anymore rain! That is great about your shelter. We got a new cat that was lost during the flooding, so many animals lost to their owners our shelters are above max capacity with waiting lists so we appreciate yalls help!

That is the reason to help our own people more and get our country back to somewhat normal .We have seen more rain than normal and more wind than ever .I don't complain because at least I am not loosing everything to storms .Just a few shingles off the carport roof and they are easy to replace .I donate where I can to help our own people .I take things to my local shelter and donate to gods pit crew to help people who lost everything .I wish I could do more but being retired i am on limited funds .At least ou have a spirit to keep you going and you are strong so you will thrive no matter what .

hi welcome , sorry to hear about flood . if you see a small pipe or gasket at borrom drain then its easier to connect , if not then you will need to install some thing like this with gasket and some cealing paste and spinning nut on top , use very small aquarium pump , or u can have issues drying up if it cant cope up with the speed since its thin outlet

if you already have piping , you can connect older pond.... bigger pond outletlet goes in to tub waterfall and tub drain goes to bigger pond , add control valve to adjust rite balance
