One got out and died??? another one got out and I am babying it hoping it will live, Could someone give me some suggestions...
Thank You,
Lola

Are the fish new to the pond? fish tend to do jumping when first introduced esp koi. The other thing you could do is put a net over the top until they calm down.

aww the apple snails got out, sorry I was thinking it was the fish. No clue on how to keep snails in except netting so they can't crawl out. I wouldn't think they would climb up and over dry block out of water.

I'm certainly not a snail expert and don't even play a snail doctor in the movies, but .....

Given what I've observed our native snails doing around my small pond, it could be that your snail left the water to tend to snaily propagation business and then could not get back into the pond? Our apple snails and wolf snails sometimes go on a slime about around the exterior of the pond, but they are usefully found in the cracks and crevices of the rocks.

I have a dozen or so "mystery" snails in my pond. A little while ago I was outside, looking at the fish and noticed one of the snails "crawling" up the power cord to my smaller pump. I watched it for a while to see what it did. When it got to the waterline, it turned and headed back toward the bottom. It occured to me that if it had continued to follow the power line, it could have ended up outside the pond very quickly. Maybe this is what happened with your snails? If not a power cord, maybe a plant leaf.....?

Hi LolaDia, Welcome to the forum. it would be my guess the snails are getting help. From time to time I find snails in our grass several feet from the pond. I know for a fact its the snail grabbers that are called raccoons!
