Anyone use koi clay (bentonite) in their ponds?

Was wondering if anyone on the site happens to use koi clay in their ponds?

I bought the microbe lift calcium montmorillonite clay
I dont realy know if it helps my Koi or not {lol.. they cant read how good it is for them }
At times i put a tablespoon in my coffee can full of food and roll it around
other times i add 2 tsp per 1000 gal in a bucket and pour it in
I bought 6lb last year and its half gone

I used the Ultima clay for a few years because people said it would clear your water and kill string algae.
I stopped using it when I had string algae bad.

So, that's my point of the thread, DoDad. Are you not a believer?

I confess I've waffled on this subject over the years of whether to use it or not...I always hear mixed things such as this so I never buy it it. I hear it's a miracle product, and I hear it's nonsense....

I never had a algae problem,,
I tried it to help enhance there color
I will do a test ...with the little fry i have , I will add some in to there tub each week and see if i notice a color difference

I cant tell any difference with the colors or the water
But it does add minerals to the water that are not found in my pond
