Looks like a catapillar, but I’m no expert. Also, more pictures from different angles might help.

I wondered if it might be dragonfly, since we had a few visiting for a week or two. Hope not. I like them but I've read bad things about their early stages.

The dragon fly larvae do snack on small fry, eggs, tads if they can catch them, but to me it is natures balance. I don't worry about it.
That does not look like dragon fly larvae.

Thanks for the replies. We do have a neighbors tree that drops leaves and found these in the skimmer so it could possibly be caterpillar. We are trying to get used to all the uninvited guests, I know that's part of the experience. Just get paranoid at all the creepies we see.

I don't think you can find anyone who knows dragon flies who will say you have a problem when you find one
