hi can any1 help me i have sum muck at the bottom of my pond and was just wondering if they any way that a can clean the bottom with out emptying it ?

pond vaccuum .....the mucvac is cheap and will do a great job on your small pond!.... it works off your garden hose and displaces water from the pond..so if you do it every couple water changes. your waters out and the pond is clean.

you can easily build prefilters. but the tetrapond ones i use were around $20.00 at Lowes.... a prefilter goes before a the pump so crud is caught and held before clogging the pump or getting pureed and set to the filter.

OH CRAP! I actually posted the prefilter post in the wrong thread.. but if you'd like to use a prefilter. does your pump have an inlet for a hose? or is it a sump style pump? get the MUCVAC to keep your bottom clean... youve got to remove water to change it anyways so you might as well vaccuum as the waters gets removed

O.K.. better picture but dose the end with the slits, and flow contol dial come off to reveal a hole to screw in a hose adapter (nipple)?

the part of the pumps housing that has the dial and all the slits is where the water gets sucked in...usually the slitted housing comes off and there is a place to put a hose to...DOES THIS PUMP HAVE IT?....IF YOU DONT KNOW, LOOK!!
